Apricot Auto Wins Against Photoperiod Giants in Germany

Our very own Apricot Auto has just taken 1st place in the "Best Flower" category at the Universe Cup, the oldest and most prestigious cannabis competition in Northern Germany. Held in Hamburg during HamCan, the region’s biggest cannabis trade show, this international cup drew expert growers and award-winning entries from all over the world.

Our star grower Chubbs took home the top prize with Apricot Auto, the same powerhouse strain that already conquered the Autoflower World Cup in 2024. But this win is even more special—it wasn’t an autoflower-only contest. Apricot Auto went head-to-head with over 16 entries, including elite photoperiod strains cultivated by some of Europe’s top growers.

Max, the organizer of the Universe Cup, put it best:

“You should have seen people’s faces when they heard the winning strain was an autoflower!”

They Laughed at Autoflowers… Then Chubbs Scored 1st with Apricot Auto

This open-format competition proves what we’ve been saying all along—autoflowers today can absolutely stand on equal ground with photoperiods. 

The fact that Apricot Auto outshined not only other autos but photoperiod strains from seasoned cup-winners speaks volumes about the evolution of autoflower genetics.

Last year, we proudly took second place with Papaya Cookies Auto at the Düsseldorf edition of the Universe Cup. This year, we’re honored to be back on the top podium in Hamburg, showing the world what Fast Buds autos are really made of.
